Flexibility, innovation, vision and reliability are the key factors to operate in a market with higher and higher standards.
Mulmix’s experience in the agro-industrial field all round the world, led to the creation of the MAXIMA HD series for “industrial” clients. These high performance machines are meant for intense use h24, 365 days a year.
In this article, we would like to present an Italian case history regarding a revamping intervention which allowed the customer, thanks to Mulmix engineering and Maxima HD machines, to convert his old factory equipped with concrete silos into the largest oil mill in the Europe.
This storage plant is located in the North of Italy and it has a total capacity of 70.000 tons of soy and flour and it turns into 3.000 tons of soy a day.
Intensive working hours is what distinguishes this plant, in fact a continuous supply is provided by sea (about 3 ships per month).
The owners commissioned Mulmix the engineering/revamping of the plant in order to increase the capacity of the machines and to redesign the whole logistics of the plant.
The reception area for the ships has been upgraded with a new line of belt conveyors (jetty conveyors) of 1000t/h soy that connects the ship unloader to the storage silos.
The most interesting and important aspect of this installation is the deep analysis and the engineering behind this project with reference to the connections and positioning on the quay of every single part and the arrangement of the structural work and their correct functioning.
Belt conveyors on the quay have been equipped with a mobile hopper which can slide along the whole belt length and follow the movement of the ship unloader. This allows the product to be loaded along the whole line, which is then conveyed to the tower of the bucket elevators.
There are two bucket elevators with a total capacity of 1000 t/h each, characterized by 3 rows of buckets and an industrial motor drive that moves the machine.
An independent motor is connected through a joint to an industrial gear motor which is connected to the bucket elevator pulley by another shaft located at the opposite end.
In the new tower located close to the existing one, in addition to bucket elevators, the configuration is fitted also with a cleaner system and a flow scale.
All the machines have been built paying attention to details, future maintenance and to the possibility to easily replace of work out parts.
Mulmix managed all the project phases from the analysis of possibility, to the architectural implementation, to the production and supply of all the machines and accessories.
